English or Dutch?? Engels of Nederlands??
I’m thinking about starting to write this blog in Dutch instead of English.
In the very beginning of this blog, when it was still hosted on Awardspace I wrote it in both English and Dutch. But writing in the two languages was kind of a drag. It took a very long time to finish a post, which made me even post less, which is surprising as I don’t blog that much anyway 
.
When the blog on awardspace crashed I made the move to this blog. And with the move I made the decision to only write in English. This because (1) English is a more universal language than Dutch; and (2) because I thought it would be a good practice to write in English.
The first reason is still true, but I also believe that most of my visitors are Dutch-speaking, so it would be kind of silly to write in English when hardly any foreigners (for lack of a better word) visit.
The second reason is also still true, but as it turns out I have to write a lot of English for my job, and because of that I’m actually starting to get better at expressing myself in the English written language than the Dutch, which I’m actually somewhat appalled with!
So, writing in English or writing in Dutch? Which holds your preference? Again a little poll to find out :D
Ik denk erover na om deze blog in het Nederlands te beginnen schrijven.
In het prille begin van deze blog, toen deze nog op Awardspace te vinden was, schreef ik zowel in het Nederlands als het Engels. Maar het schrijven in beide talen was nogal lastig. Het duurde heel lang eer ik een post afgewerkt had, waardoor ik ook minder geneigd werd om een berichtje te schrijven, wat toch verrassend is, aangezien ik al zo weinig schrijf .
Toen de blog op awardspace crashte, verhuisde ik naar deze blog. En tijdens de verhuizing maakte ik de beslissing om alleen nog maar in het Engels te schrijven. Dit omdat (1) Engels een meer universele taal is vergeleken met het Nederlands; en (2) ik dacht dat het een goede oefening zou zijn om in het Engels te schrijven.
De eerste reden geldt nog steeds, maar ik geloof ook dat het merendeel van mijn bezoekers Nederlandstalig zijn. Dus het zou eigenlijk een beetje stom zijn om in het Engels te blijven schrijven terwijl er zelden een buitenlander (bij gebrek aan een beter woord) op bezoek komt.
De tweede reden geldt ook nog steeds, maar nu blijkt dat ik voor mijn werk heel veel in het Engels moet schrijven, en hierdoor blijk ik mij beter te kunnen uitdrukken in de Engelse geschreven taal dan in mijn moedertaal. En dat vind ik eigenlijk verschrikkelijk van mezelf!
Dus, schrijf ik in het Engels of Nederlands? Wat draagt jullie voorkeur weg? Opnieuw een kleine poll :D
